The first strike in history began on November 14, 1152 BC and took place during the reign of Ramses III when sixty artisans refused to support their work in the Valley of the Kings. They were stonemasons, carpenters and artists, guided by the type Paturere and two foremen, claimed that wages had not received food during the last month. Sitting at the gate of the temple, they cried, "We are hungry and thirsty."
